Ingredients
  1. 5 large Granny Smith apples
  2. ½ cup brown sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  4. 1 cup plain flour
  5. 1 cup caster sugar
  6. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  7. 125g butter, softened
Instructions
  1. Peel, core and slice apples into rings and layer into a large round pie dish (35cm). Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cover with foil and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes until tender. Meanwhile, combine flour, sugar and baking powder together and mix in butter, squeezing with your hand to make a stiff dough. Remove foil and crumble dough onto the top of cooked apples and cook a further 30 minutes until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
